If you need a book series to make you feel a little more human again... these are the books. Firstly, what an interesting way to craft a story after the ending of the first book (no spoilers) but wow, that's how you do it. Hank Green is an expert when it comes to navigating social media fame and implores you to be a little more introspective about how you use social media, how you engage and view creators, how creators are flawed and human and deserving of growth and change (as we all are), but also speaks critically of how fame and power can corrupt. In my opinion, this is one of the best modern sci-fi stories.

Highly recommend the audiobook.

I think the first book had to do a lot of unfortunate fame- and internet-related groundwork to make this book possible, so for those who felt let down by An Absolutely Remarkable Thing, I urge you to continue with this sequel. I liked the first one fine, but this one is indeed remarkable.

I'm a sucker for an ensemble cast, and the plot offers a lot of insight into current affairs. Occasionally a bit too close for comfort – akin to reading 1984 in 1984, I imagine. A timely and skillfully executed science fiction story.
