Liz Tomforde you have done it again!! I don't usually like books that have single parents but this book did it so well! I loved every single character, I love the found family aspect of it all and I just love this world.
Another Liz Tomforde winner. God I love her writing. I’m just kicking my damn feet and giggling through the whole book. I love a good corny romance but something about Liz’ writing makes her romance feel real and attainable. And the way these men TALK (iykyk) I am WEAK.
I’m not the biggest fan of whenthe fmc quits her career to become a mom but I love Liz’ writing so much that I let it slide because the way she wrote Miller and Monty’s relationship made me feel like Miller actually did make the right choice. so it’s all good. 🌶️🌶️🌶️.75
Knowing I only have one more book left to read in this series makes me want to cry. I can’t get enough of this crew. But I’m excited for the spin off book with Monty and Reese!

The single dad x nanny trope is one of my all time favorites, so I knew going into this book that I’d love it 😉 Kai is by far my favorite Liz Tomforde MMC and probably top 5 of allllll MMCs, he was that amazing!

*There are five spicy scenes in Caught Up. I’ve included the pages & percentages at the bottom of this review.*
Kai is a famous baseball player and very recently found out he is a father when the baby mama just dropped his son, Max, at his doorstep & said she doesn’t want to be a mother. He’s had to adapt to being a single father while maintaining his baseball career. The team management has done everything they can to assist him in child care but Kai keeps firing the nanny’s - in his eyes, no one is good enough to watch his son AND he’s honestly looking for a reason to retire.
Miller, Kai’s coach’s daughter and renowned pastry chef, quits her current contract after being harassed by someone in the kitchen. When her father learns of this, he convinces her to stay in Chicago for the summer until her next contract and nanny for Kai’s son.
Kai and Miller are like oil and water at first but they are undeniably attracted to each other. The chemistry is off the charts and that slow burn tension was soooo worth it 🔥 Kai’s protectiveness & all around amazingness towards Miller and Max made him one of the sexiest MMCs I’ve ever read.
I loved this book, the characters, and the storyline, but Miller did start to frustrate me towards the end. She was so very clearly unhappy with the idea of going back to consult for different kitchens, and she was so very clearly happy with Max & Kai, that it did not make sense why she was digging in her heels about the rules and going back. Not to mention her misplaced guilt towards her father’s career. I wanted to jump through the pages and give her a little shake, because I am all for a woman putting her life and career first but not when it comes at the cost of her happiness!
My favorite things in this book:
1. Max. I was absolutely obsessed with this little boy and his constant smiles for Kai, the team, and Miller 💕
2. Miller calling Kai “Baseball Daddy” 🤣
3. Learning what Max was trying to say every time he said “Mmmm” *sob fest*
I cannot wait for Isaiah and Kennedy’s story!!
