I'm really enjoying this run. The art style is fantastic, I've always thought spider-man suits the cartoon aesthetic. The writing is good; nowhere have I thought 'they wouldn't say that', or have characters acted out-of-character simply to drive the story. The story and plot are fun as well, with a really enjoyable first story about the bar with no name (it's climax was a little eh tbh but otherwise it was very enjoyable) and the second story, where everyone's stuff is being stolen, is hilarious and fun, and you can tell that everyone on board was laughing as they created it.

Nick Spencer's run continues to be a highly enjoyable spider-man read, standing right up there with spider-island, ends of the earth, superior spider-man, and spider-verse 1.

Amazing Spider-Man vol 2 carries on the new age of Spider-Man post Dan Slott and I think is another really good volume for the webhead. Within are five issues in total with two story arcs across those five. One in which Spidey goes to the bar with no name for a Spider-Man trivia night and it develops the Fisk/Kindred plot from vol 1 on top of using Boomerang one of Spidey's roommates in an excellent comedic fashion while also paying tribute to the Superior foes of Spider-Man for the fans out there. Called A Trivial Pursuit

The second arc: Heist is about the guild of thieves who were an old wives tale but they've now made a move in a big way: by stealing things from every superhero! It's a fun premise that does everything it can in three issues, while at the same time Mary Jane has a plot of her own when she joins the Lookups a civilian support group for the close and loved ones of Super heroes.

The art is penciled by Humberto Ramos and Michele Bandin who both do a good job though I love Bandini's work as she covers the Mary Jane half of the story smoothly. And Ramos has been on Spider-man for years so I've always got a spot for him.

The two arcs are about second chances. remembering, and how vital (and annoying) those around you are. I think it's another good volume, good enough for those who didn't like the first and certainly good enough for me to continue reading.

4 stars.

This is possibly the most mixed I have ever been on a Comic Trade volume. The stories told were SUPER entertaining from Peter connecting with Boomerang and realizing maybe he isn't bad, to the whole thing with Black Cat to the Friends and Loved ones of Supers support group this whole volume had so much heart. However it also felt super weirdly paced? To the point that sometimes I felt like I was getting whiplash and it felt like more of an anthology "Best of Collection" than a coherent, flowing trade where the stories were connected in anything other than theme.

Also some of the art, especially in the first 2 issues were BEYOND terrible.

30/100.

Me gusta mucho el arte, pero el guion no me mola nada. Nick Spencer en Spiderman va a hacer que me baje. Me lo estoy viendo.
