Dana White gets me. It’s so nice to read a book about keeping your life in order written by someone who isn’t a neat freak and who actually understands and has lived the pitfalls we less tidy people face. Who gets the actual struggle of the process. I’ve already started a couple of the habits suggested in this book and I can see a difference.

I liked it. I actually had realized this stuff already, so I didn't learn much, but there was a time when I DIDN'T know this stuff, so it really is a helpful book. Good reminders and non stressful in its presentation. Very practical.

It was fine. I thought there would be more that wasn’t included in the 100 tips book she wrote. But it was very similar. Super similar.

Dana K. White writes organizing/home management books for people like me. I’ve followed many organizers over the years, but Dana’s approach really resonates with me. Her books are funny and relatable with stories I could’ve experienced myself. Her clear recommendations are easy to follow and help build successful habits. I liked this particular book but enjoyed Decluttering at the Speed of Life more.

It took me almost two months to finish this book, but from the beginning, I found motivation to really clean my house and start making better routines. I still have a lot of decluttering to do, but I am really starting to see the changes. This book explained things that I already knew, but in words that made them finally sink in... What is a container? Why is there more dirty laundry today than yesterday? Who put these dirty dished in my sink?... This was the first self-help type book I've read that truly resonated with me. As the author shared her experiences and mindset, I constantly thought, "Oh my God. She is talking about me."

Realistic, actionable advice for getting your home under control and keeping in more or less under control in a way that isn’t totally overwhelming. Dana is good at explaining basic concepts for home management in a way that is accessible for those of us who find most organizing books to be overkill and unattainable.

The best book I’ve read on decluttering and cleaning.

It comes down to the simple non-negotiables. I noticed months ago when I started making my bed in the morning, it started my day better. And not coming home to a messy room at night has made such a difference in my mood.

So when Dana talks about doing the dishes Every. Day. I totally got it. And I started it immediately. It’s so refreshing to walk into the kitchen in the mornin and having the sink be empty. Or at night after work I don’t have to clean off the pot or pan I need, I can quickly get dinner started.

So I am still in week one, but look forward to adding sweeping the kitchen, wiping the counters, decluttering the bathroom, and the 5 minute pick up as these tasks become habit.

Brilliant advice on decluttering as well. I have this one under control for the most part. But great advice like “Walk the item to the room it belongs in, don’t start yet another pile.” and “If I were looking for this item, where would I look first” were great tips!

Highly recommend for the deslobification of life!

I am the type of person she says in the beginning of the book “this is not for you if…” but I still enjoyed listening to it as it helped me understand how others’ brains work. I also found the parts about decluttering helpful because although I am organized, I do have trouble with keeping stuff I don’t need. Would recommend!
