A wonderfully dark look at Batman and the Joker. It shows how they are so alike, yet so different, and how, at the end, the Joker is more than willing to go on without Bats, but Batman is more than willing to die with the Joker. Through gorgeous artwork, and beautiful writing we see Europe in its dark, twisted glory and it's spectacularly haunting.

An interesting take on the "relationship" between Joker and the Bat. Although these stories are becoming more frequent, this one has Batman far more dependent on his psychotic counterpart than he'd ever like to be. It's a bit of humor and a whole lot of traveling around Europe for the two. Overall, it makes for an interesting read if you'd like to engage in a Batman story that strays from the status quo. The ending / solving of their problem is a bit grotesque, but the entire story has a good bit of action and blood in it--nothing too bad, but fair warning that it's a little gorier than other trades. I didn't hate the overall story and appreciated the variety in storytelling between the two. It's unfortunately just not as memorable to me as other stories have been.

People always rave about this so I was expecting more. The the art is often unclear, and the story is a batman story that's been told a lot of times just this time in Europe, and there are holes in it that don't get plugged up.

Enjoyed the minute-tour of a European city at the start of each chapter. The range of artists on display shows off a lot of talent, though the story is kind of a bag lunch among Batman stories.
SpoilerOh hey, it's Bane, revealed just in time to subsequently leave the story.
The book is really about the reluctant alliance between Batman and Joker, but it ends without much payoff beyond "that was a neat little journey," almost like a shorter Hush.

Not a fan. I usually LOVE the Batman/Joker dynamic, but this didn't do it for me. I didn't like jumping from city to city. The plot felt contrived, and the end was anti-climatic. Even Joker's jokes weren't funny. I'm sure a lot of fans will like this but it's not for me.

Not best. Definitely not what I was expecting in a Batman/Joker team up.
