LOOOOVED the chronic illness rep, it slayed so hard. The whole cast of characters being so unique and distinct is just one of the beautiful parts of this book.

I can’t believe she made the error about JFK and LaGuardia. But beyond that I really liked this story. The success of the two main characters seemed a little “Hollywood” but I loved their second chance and appreciated their journey. The daughter was a trip.

I really enjoyed this, for the most part. I loved the exploration of complex characters in a somewhat toxic relationship and how their trauma played into it. I also loved the representation of Eva with chronic migraines, as someone with chronic migraines myself I liked that.

However, and this isn’t the authors’ fault, the cover makes this seem more like literacy fiction, and this is more like of a contemporary, comedy…romance (it wasn’t really romantic but it also wasn’t NOT romantic). Due to how many heavy themes this had, I think it might have worked better as lit fic, but the comedy did help the digestability I think.

I’m excited to read more from this author!

I didn’t think I liked romance but this book proved me wrong. I loved the characters and laughed out loud while reading this but I was disappointed by the last chapter. *slight spoiler* the epilogue provided the ending i wanted but it felt rushed.
