A lovely, powerful debut verse novel! Football fans will love this—but even if you aren’t a football person, Kareem is a relatable character who reminds us the power of kindness and advocacy and learning from our mistakes. A powerful, timely historical novel that reminds readers of the impact awful, harmful policies like the Muslim ban have—with the hope that we as a nation can repent, learn and not repeat our history. Looking forward to more from Shifa Saltagi Safadi!

felt too similiar to the current climate sadly.... the story was interestingly written with NFL and grammar rules explained being linked with the story. i enjoyed the audiobook narration as well. i really hope things do get better, but alas its hard to be optimistic...
