A succinct, juvenile-fiction age-appropriate novel about how it's tough not only to be a middle-grade kid, but a hyphenated one. This book also discussed anti-Muslim racism and legislation, as well as the harsh realities that children of immigrants face, including family separation and uncertainty. As is appropriate for a j-fiction book, it's hopeful, and it shows ways in which that we all can, and should, use our gifts, to push for justice.
