Just wanted to start off by saying that I absolutely loved this book! But, that was probably going to be inevitable because I am a sucker for anything Hades and Persephone. I studied Classics in university so as a result it is very difficult for me to find a book or film based off of Ancient Greece or Rome that I thoroughly enjoy and doesn't make me cringe every moment. The author clearly has a love for Greek Mythology and has thoroughly done her research and it shows which I for one  appreciate immensely.

Furthermore, the way the author takes the traditional myths and twists them to fit her world is stunning. They are both familiar and new and keep you wanting to know more. I absolutely loved the dynamic between Hades and Persephone and the descriptions of the Underworld were amazing. Also Hecate and Hermes were excellent! Persephone's characterization could come off as annoying to some but I did not find her to be that way at all. She is a young woman trying to find her way and her place in the world and one of the main plot points is her journey of coming into her own. I found her to be a relatable character who does her best even in impossible circumstances.

A few minor warnings though. One, this book does get spicy. It takes a little bit for it to get that way but once it does, the spice keeps going. In some ways it felt a bit fan-fiction-y (I love fan fiction so this is not a complaint on my end). If either of those things bother you, then this book is not for you.

Second, this book definitely could have been edited better - there are several instances of typos and grammatical errors. That being said, please keep in mind that this is an indie author who self-published and probably did her own editing, so that's to be expected. But again, if that is something that bothers you, this book probably isn't your cup of tea.

All in all, if you enjoy Greek Mythology and Romance, I would recommend this novel and I cannot wait to read more!
