I enjoyed this, but I don't think it's quite as engaging as Drowning was. Drowning had some great character inter-dynamics, good commentary on family and women's intuition.
Falling on the other hand tried to have a kind of political statement that I didn't find the clearest. The fact that the terrorists don't really have an agenda outside of "we want people to know we exist" but then actively blame Bill and other civilians for the terrible crap that happened to their people decades before was... a choice.
They were mad that Americans didn't know what Sadam Hussain did to the Kurdish people. And their idea was to kill a bunch of them because they were ... guilty of ignorance.
Don't get me wrong. It's horrific. But are innocent people in an uninvolved country really to be expected to know EVERY awful thing to ever happen in the whole world? It's just a weird message?
maybe it's just me.
The characters were a little lackluster in this one too. The flight attendants were my favorite - but Bill and his wife... eh. They were meant to be the center point in the story and I struggled to care about them?
They just didn't stand out for me the way Jo and her crew did.
The action is really where this high rating is coming from. Newman knows how to write a book so that it reads like a movie. It's fast paced, exciting, edge-of- your- seat tension that makes it hard to put down.
I'll definitely be picking other books up by her in the future - even of they're not all winners, her writing alone will be worth it.

Now THAT'S a thriller! Practically non-stop action from the very beginning! I really enjoyed this book, found it so unputdownable that I started on audio and then also checked out a digital copy so I could keep reading when I wasn't driving.

A debut thriller you can’t miss!
This book was a literal thrill “ride”. To think that not every literary agent did not pick this book to publish boggles my mind. TJ Newman brings authenticity to this book that few can other than being a real life flight attendant. This book hooks you from the start and does not let go. I highly enjoyed this book and can’t wait to see what TJ does next!!! Awesome book!

Talk about an audiobook that keeps you on the edge of your seat, but maybe skip if you’re already scared of flying. You’re a pilot of a commercial airline when your wife sends you a picture early into your cross country flight that will forever change your life. What follows is an airline crews attempt to stop a terrorist attack mid flight while on the ground, the FBI tries to save the pilots family. I made my run last an extra 2 miles so I could keep listening. I finished it in one day. I was hooked.
