This book was intense. It was exciting from the start, and kept up the momentum throughout.
I'm not a massive fan of flying (I love take-off and landing, not fond of being stuck up in the air), so this book pushed all the right buttons for me.
The characters were likeable, especially Jo and Big Daddy, and I felt myself rooting for them all and hoping they were going to come up with some way out of the situation. I think the audiobook narration by Steven Weber really helped with bringing them to life.
Although everything wrapped up well (the climax really belongs in a blockbuster movie) the very last bit of the ending felt trite to me. The rest of the book, though, solid five stars! I can't wait to read more from TJ Newman.

What a wild ride this was. Finished in less than 24hrs and that’s me on a bad day because I’m ill. This has brought me to tears. I’m not ready for Drowning yet because my heart’s not back on its normal rhythm, this book is very much adrenaline packed. Incredible Read!!!
I thought this book was great. The author did a great job of pacing the book and I flew through the last half.

OK so, much like DROWNING (another airplane trauma story), this reads very much like a suspense movie. I found this one less “good” than DROWNING, also doing very little to ease any anxiety I have about flying. 😅 It follows a very straightforward and stereotypical hijacking storyline that was kind of yawn and predictable to be honest, down to the Middle Eastern hijackers. But a quick read, a good audiobook and super stress-y if you’re in the mood for holding onto your butt. My rating is mostly due to the fact that I’m not much of a thriller/suspense reader. If you are, it’s probably pretty solid.
