Middle of the line read for me. While I enjoyed the pacing and felt like this was a quick page turner, I didn't feel like the plot lines really resolved themselves/the sci fi space horror element really did enough for me.

For example, the extraterrestrial sentience just... didn't matter in the end? There's no resolution for our protagonist with her family really? The weird moments of love interest don't turn into anything, even a major plot point?

This one was just not as good as the first novel, but I know the sophomore novel can be really challenging, and have a lot of respect for S.A. Barnes and the craft!

This book wasn’t perfect but I really really enjoyed it. It gripped me pretty early on and had an even building of tension through the end. There were a couple twists I wasn’t expecting.

Both books I've read from this author have been superb. She has a way with creating fantastical, futuristic worlds, and building them in a way that makes you feel like you already understand the universe and don't need every explanation handed to you on a silver platter. I love that in a book. My only critique is that the epilogue felt super fast - I would have loved just a few more pages!

Thanks to Tor Nightfire for the free copy of this book.

 - Whew, GHOST STATION had me on the edge of my seat. Space horror is a new favorite genre for me.
- I loved the setup of this world. There was just enough to make it feel real without getting bogged down in the details of the corporate and social politics. I’d totally read more books set in this universe.
- The threat in this story was deeply terrifying, and I was genuinely right there with the characters as they tried to think their way out of the situation.
