𝑯𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒕 π‘Ίπ’šπ’π’π’‘π’”π’Šπ’”: In space, no one can hear you scream.

π‘Ήπ’†π’—π’Šπ’†π’˜: This took me what felt like forever to read, but that was mostly due to life. I do think the story starts off slow, and there is this constant reference to "something bigger" that takes a loooong time to get told. The best part was building the eerie atmosphere on the abandoned planet, but I think everything could be turned up a notch. I wanted more scare and I think it could have been done if it was a multi-pov story.

π‘Ήπ’†π’„π’π’Žπ’Žπ’†π’π’…π’‚π’•π’Šπ’π’: Yeah, I've enjoyed both S.A. Barnes space-horror novels.

This is such a major improvement from Dead Silence and I loved Dead Silence. All the problems I had with Dead Silence’s pacing was completely fixed which made the story amazing! S.A Barnes gave us more time with the team which allowed the reader to get more attached which was a problem I had with Dead Silence.

And while the supernatural problem had similar symptoms as the one in Dead Silence the Alien parasite in Ghost Station was so well thought out and more developed which made me want to read the book so I could figure out more.

I loved each and every character in this book, I loved how in depth Ophelia’s backstory was which made it so special when Ophelia decided she was done hiding both metaphorically and physically (If you know you know) I love stories about space crews which is why Ghost Station was so amazing for me, S.A Barnes is amazing at combining a fun space story with super intriguing and creepy concepts; while Barnes has only written two books she has quickly became an auto buy author for me and I can’t wait to read whatever story she writes next!

I love sci-fi horror and I'd heard such great things about Dead Silence, so I was excited to read the newest from S.A. Barnes. Unfortunately, this didn't really work for me, though I have seen some people really enjoy this, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt.

The pacing was slow, which as a fan of gothics isn't usually an issue for me, but this just felt too repetitive and didn't have the payoff in the end that I was expecting. I also really struggled with Ophelia as a main character. I can understand and even can root for, an unlikeable protagonist, but I found myself questioning so many of her decisions and not in a good way. To be completely honest, I find myself forgetting details of this story and it's only been a week since I read it. I'm not sure how someone can make such a fascinating premise boring and forgettable, but Barnes managed here.

This is another book where I understand the horror, objectively, but I didn't really feel it like I wish I did. I also felt the ending was a tiny bit rushed. I understand why the action stopped where it did, but after all the worrying about the storm, it was totally fine and didn't merit any worry.
