I was lucky enough to get my hands on this before its release. It's not really my go-to genre but I loved it!! You know when you finish a book and you're still thinking about it for a day or two later? This one I couldn't stop thinking about for weeks. There's magic and mystery and mythical creatures and baddies and humour and even a touch of romance. The plot was creative and intriguing, I'm so curious as to what's going to happen next. The characters were my favourite element of the book, they were all so well crafted, I especially loved Ju Long - I want him to be real. I think this is an excellent debut from M.K. Drake and I'm really, really looking forward to the next in the series.
