I never read the hunger games as a teen and in a way I'm glad because this my current age really allows me to appreciate the themes and just how heavy these topics are. These books, tho several years old ring true and is a prefect mirror to how our society.

Katniss is a wonderful lead, just a teen forced into a system designed to break her, trust into the role of rebellion image because she's herself. She's not a chosen one, there is no story from 500 years ago which foretells coming and her being the straw that breaks the Capitol's back, these things happens because of who Katniss is.

Catching fire really teaches us that you can't break a system from within
, even tho the victors join hands in unison and try to play on Capitol Citizen's emotions, it still turns into blood bath, even with the plan to get Katniss and Peeta(?) to 13.
The only way to damage a hostile and broken system is via violence and/or an external force
as seen with the rebels from 13

I can rant all day. All I have to say is no notes!

Even after years, the ending of this book NEVER fails to shock me.
"there is no district 12" changed my little 11-12 year old mind.

Catching Fire is the perfect follow-up to The Hunger Games. Although the book starts off slow, it's worth it by the end. Collins' makes a compelling case to ache for the characters, resist the Capitol, and to criticize the movement against them. This is not the first time I've read this book, and on reading it this time, I noticed another layer of depth that you don't get initially. I don't want to spoil anything, but the end is where the stakes become unavoidably clear.
