My first reaction to reading the last pages of this book was a thrilling, pure state of shock.
“Catching Fire” is a stunning sequel to its predecessor as it twists and turns in every direction; this was actually really interesting, I thought, because it mirrors the upheaval and political unsteadinesses in the book.
I have nothing to say, really: this book is such a gripping page turner, thought-provoking and adventurous at the same time.
I’m still team Peeta, by the way.

This was such a good follow up to the first book! I am so glad I'm finally reading this series because I absolutely love it! The characters are perfect to follow, and the resilience they show is incredible, especially Katniss, who is beginning to become a favorite character of all time. I am so excited to read the next book and to see how this story ends!

Catching Fire is the perfect follow-up to The Hunger Games. Although the book starts off slow, it's worth it by the end. Collins' makes a compelling case to ache for the characters, resist the Capitol, and to criticize the movement against them. This is not the first time I've read this book, and on reading it this time, I noticed another layer of depth that you don't get initially. I don't want to spoil anything, but the end is where the stakes become unavoidably clear.
