Taking place on a rugged mountain, this gritty and heart-warming novel follows courageous Ellie as she finds her calling in a new place and lifestyle. A perfect book for ones who love nature.

When I first started this book I thought it was going to be another overhyped novel. It was not! This book was beautiful! The main character, Ellie was well developed and one of the most moral and courageous characters I have ever seen developed in a work of fiction. She was realistic - you could see how she came to be the person she was. All the characters were well developed and relatable. This book is by far by favorite book on the list so far.

3.5. Worried a few kids would abandon it waiting for some of the healing and family conflict to resolve.

3.5 stars. I really enjoyed this book. Loved the setting, loved Ellie’s character. The development of the characters was great. It felt a little YA to me, but overall a beautiful story.
