I loved Erin & Burke! Erin, &  Burke definitely had communication issues. 99% of which was Burke’s fault. What else is new? 😂 This book had a bit of a multi-POV which I prefer.

The first half of this story is well done. It starts faltering during the St. Patrick’s Day party and continues to spiral into ridiculousness. This plot is reminiscent of a Lifetime movie. Erin and Burke need couples counseling. If these two would just TALK to each other instead of assuming the worst they would have a much healthier relationship. Erin’s character started off as a strong woman who had ambitions and spoke her mind and then she became this meek shell of her former self who finds it impossible to voice her feelings. Burke is quite nasty and emotionally distant to her in the second half of the book and it is explained away by lame excuses of why he finds it impossible to show his emotions. I didn’t like either Erin or Burke and I firmly believe they are doomed as a couple.

This was an enjoyable sequel to Irish Thoroughbred, and another fun romance. Erin and Burke felt real, even if slightly caricaturish. Some of plot points were pretty far-fetched as well. Both are to be expected given the genre, but it was bit more jarring than usual. I wished this had built a little more, it was a short read at just under 300 pages. I did like that unlike the first book, some of Burke's perspective was shared by the narration, and there was certainly more steam.

Definitely a recommended romance, it's not disappointing, just not my favorite.

I loved this one more than the first of the series!

While the story was very similar to the first book, I really enjoyed the development of the main characters - Burke and Erin - and their love story. Their lives are closely intertwined with Adelia and Travis, but they have their own roadblocks and difficulties that I really appreciated!

I have already started the third book in the series, and I am loving this one even more! It is getting me really excited to dive into more Nora Roberts books!! (@Nikki…I know this makes you happy!!)
