*****spoilers***** I fucking knew the killer was fucking heimerdinger, that little bitch (Officer Henninger. I just kept reading it in my head as heimerdinger). Also W for Director Burns near the end.

Re-read edit:
Old me was so salty with this book, giving it a two star rating.
Ended up enjoying it so much more the second time round.
It took me a long time to find a copy to read that wasn't $600 off Amazon and I was so damn disappointed. This book started off great, but the slow burn got boring and then any relief we got was short and unfulfilling.
I got very bored towards the end I ended up skipping so much.
The 2 POV's got so confusing sometimes too, I'd have to backtrack to realise who was talking, not to mention getting confused as shit between the two surnames they'd start barking.
Hard to want to give the next 100 books a go, but maybe book two will wet my pallet some more.

A lot of the protagonist's problems could be fixed with just a little bit of therapy. They are aware of it though, and not dramatic about it, not like most people in real life (I'm just salty for the sake of it).
The profile's killer was interesting, a young puppy eager to show off. But we knew already that the serial was probably FBI, and there are not a lot of characters, so guessing the real identity of the killer was not that hard. And what about his partner? We were introduced to him in the firsts chapters and then he disappeared.
I feel like the whole point of this book is the pairing, at the expense of the intrigue and the other characters and relationships.
I was also not really convinced by the way the two points of view intertwined.
I don't know if I'm gonna read the next of these books, I'm not sure if I'm interested enough in this dysfunctional relationship. I found them a little bit irrational sometimes and it's perplexed me.
It was still entertaining (and I had, like, fourteen hours of train, need to keep me busy).
