A lo mejor no soy objetiva porque a mí las cosas de pueblo me ganan, y este libro rezuma folclore de la España profunda en cada párrafo, del auténtico. Es tan real que estoy segura de que he conocido a esa gente, he visto esa casa, he escuchado esos chismes y a esos fantasmas.
Carcoma me ha parecido brutal. Crítico sin discursos, perturbador sin gore, con un estilo único que se lee solo. Un libro de los que mandarán leer en los institutos y que a la vez es muy muy entretenido.

I really wanted to like this book but ultimately I found the writing really repetitive and kinda... detached I guess? The main topics

are grief, anger and injustice, plus there's some stuff that SHOULD be pretty scary, but somehow the book keeps the reader at arms length.

I really liked the writing style and the shifting perspectives of the book. There was a weird emotional remove from the events of the book that didn't quite work here. It just felt like you knew the women hated their employers without really hating them yourself. Then the end felt pretty anticlimactic. So... Good writing, good premise, just wish it had delivered better.
