While I liked the characters (and there is great representation) they felt a little flat at times. It felt as though a lot of plot lines and character growth were wrapped up very quickly and efficiently at the end of the book, and I would have loved to see some more of that in-depth, but that could just be a feature of it being a YA book. And while the romance was cute, I agree with other reviewers that it wouldn't have even been noticeable if we weren't getting both Clem's and Mariel's POV.
Overall, a light, fun book that I enjoyed reading in-between my other books.

I had such high hopes for this book and have been trying for three months now to get into it but I need to officially put it down. The writing wasn’t bad I just found the plot to move extremely slowly.
My #1 problem is that this is a romance book yet at over a third of the way through the book THERE HAS BEEN NO ROMANCE. The two love interests have barely even talked. I didn’t see the story going anywhere anytime soon either so I just need to be done.

Okay at first I wasn’t sure how I felt about this but I thought it was really cute! I really enjoyed all the characters and had a fun time reading it. I appreciated that the author wrote a Robin-Hood-based story, set in medieval England, but still had a diversity of characters without their diversity being a source of contention in the plot (including a wide range of LGBTQ+ characters, a prominent Japanese character, and a prominent Black character). Maybe not super sophisticated or complex but loved it nonetheless
