I was actually very surprised at how well narcissism and abuse were portrayed. It made me understand more about what the victims of abuse are feeling to get deeper into those situations.

This was a good book I won’t lie but I don’t think anyone can vouch for the whereabouts of these characters on January 6th
This book was amazing, even though it has some dark themes that are unsuitable for everyone. I really did love it and I did love Mr. Cates. I remember reading the other books about 8 years ago and not reading this one because of him. He got his redemption but what the eff was that at the end?
I’m not a contemporary romance fan but the Travis series by Lisa Kleypas great! I love her historicals and so my reading group is reading this series now.
Loved Hardy in Sugar Daddy too and was so upset at the end - IYKYK.
Love Haven and cheered for her during her first marriage and loved the unfolding events in Haven’s and Hardy’s life that brought them together.
Anything else I say would be too much!

I just had to laugh at this exchange between Haven, the heroine, and her brother, Jack:
"He looked annoyed. "Well, why did you waste all that time complaining to me if you didn't want me to do something about it?"
"I don't want you to fix my problems. I just wanted you to listen."
"Hang it all, Haven, talk to a girlfriend if all you want is a pair of ears. Guys hate it when you give us a problem and then don't let us do something about it. It makes us feel bad. And then the only way to make ourselves feel better is to rip a phone book in two or blow something up. So let's get this straight — I'm not a good listener. I'm a guy."

Lisa Kleypas did it again, this series is really good with great characters and full of emotions.
This one was a little hard to read at the beginning with the violence of what happen to Haven but the author is really good with this part of the story. It's a tricky subject, you can't write about it lightly.
Like many of the reviews I have read, I really like Hardy, Lisa Kleypas's male character are always great but Hardy is in the top list.
