The more I think about it the less I like it. It was a very middle of the road book, nothing special. But the way the characters were written made me insane since they acted really childish. There was also the mention of the FMC’s “curves” every two pages and an incredibly silly plot twist in the third act. But if you’re a fan of sports romance maybe give this a try?

Aaaaand I have officially finished the Brentwood Boys series. Way to go out with a bang! This was the best one for sure. The freaking chemistry and sexual tension and then the spice with just the right amount of angst. Perfection

I loved this story! It was fun. It was sweet and swoony. It was steamy. It also had the perfect amount of angst that kept me reading more. The chemistry between these characters is combustible and the slow burn had me wanting more. I love Meghan's writing and I am so looking forward to what she has in store for us next!

As seen on my blog (Jessie's Reading Corner):
OMG…this story!!! This was my first story I read by Meghan Quinn and I am obsessed!! I can see why people are raving about her books and I can’t wait to read more from her!

First off, I Just have to say every girl/woman/lady needs a Walker. That man is…*swoon*! Except for maybe when he’s being a grumpy ass but who doesn’t love a broody hero?

If you are looking for any of the following, this is the book for you:
– grumpy meets sunshine
– forbidden romance
– sports romance
– friends to lovers
– slow burn
– steamy romance
– broody hero
– sassy heroine
– dirty talk that will make you blush

As I mentioned above, the hero in this is Walker. Walker Rockwell is a catcher for the Chicago Bobbies that is having a bad season (both on and off the field) and Kate Chapman (the heroine) is the Bobbies newest PR Manager who is assigned to help Walker try to smooth things over with the media.

Even though Walker acted like a dick to Kate in the beginning, I just loved their dynamic! Kate stood up for herself and wouldn’t let Walker get away with things. She also was a little infatuated with Walker, so when she was trying to get him to open up to her in the beginning, she pretty much would spout word vomit lol. I do the exact same thing whenever I’m talking to a guy I find attractive. As they get to know one another, they form an almost friendship. Walker still holds himself back though and when Kate questions him on, he’s blunt and tells her that he likes her just a little too much but due to the no fraternization clause, he doesn’t want to jeopardize her career. That doesn’t stop Kate from trying to spend time with him and soon enough, the tension between the two reaches a boiling point.

This has to be one of my favorite romances I’ve ever read. I just loved how Walker respected Kate and her career enough to deprive himself of knowing what it would be like to be with her. I loved how upfront he was about his feelings for her and the way he loved on her when they finally did give in. I laughed through most of this book (seriously, the one-liners between some of these characters were just hysterical), I wanted to cry, and I even wanted to throw my Kindle at one point.

Meghan throws this curveball about 70% of the way into the book that I was not expecting; it was brilliant and it left my jaw on the floor. While my jaw is on the floor though, Kate makes this bonehead decision that, after everything she had gone through with Walker, almost had me chucking my Kindle and not finishing the story. But I kept reading for Walker, and Kate and the story redeemed itself.

If you’ve read this, let me know your thoughts. It’s a standalone but characters from the previous books appear throughout the series. I’m hoping to go back and read through the series from the beginning.

I devoured this book in one day! The grumpy/sunshine was so fun and I loved the forbidden romance however they were never fully caught to the point of getting in trouble. I didn’t want to see either of them get fired so I’m glad it didn’t happen.

Sweet and spicy

Walker is having a bad run lately as the Chicago Bobcats’ catcher. He’s in a slump and just can’t seem to shake himself out of it. To make matters worse he’s a fairly private guy and comes off as grumpy and rude to the public. He’s even been nominated baseball’s most hated player.

Enter: Kate. She’s recently been hired as the Bobbies’ community liaison, and has been tasked with helping Walker brush up his image.

At first their interactions are strained because Walker just can’t ease up. He’s not used to letting anyone in and so adopts his jerk persona. But little by little, Kate’s bubbly personality and take-no-crap attitude start to bleed through his cracks, and soon his walls come crumbling down.

There’s just one problem. The Bobbies have a strict no-fraternisation policy. Will they be able to keep themselves from crossing the line?

Daaaamn this one hit hard. So much build up of sexual tension and anticipation! Their night of 5 seconds? Phew *fans face*
They wanted each other so much physically, yes, but with all their trying to colour within the lines they fell hard for each other. And it was heartbreaking that they couldn’t just be together!

A tiny misunderstand at the end (because what’s a Meghan Quinn book without a little prolonged heartache) but I was so happy for their HEA! I may have rejoiced. Is that a thing people do in everyday life? Rejoice? I feel like it should be a thing.
