Wow! This one was hard. Fantastic book but d***. In this story someone has stolen the two sea princes. The sea queen believes it was the land queen and declares war. Basically, if there is a war, the sea will kick the lands rump. So Toby has to stop it. Things get much, much worse. She has to lose so much personally in order to save the kingdom.

This is a fun series that has gradually grown more complex and developed, and while there's a lot of deus ex machina on the part of the author to resolve some plot points, the characters and devices remain entertaining.

2 spoilers ahead:
I was only a few chapters in, (unhappily) reading about Connor and October, when I thought to myself: "Well, I wouldn't cry if he didn't survive this book". I'm sorry about October being in mourning & hurting. He's a nice guy just not the one I ship her with.

I'm so glad her daughter is human now.

That said: I still love Tybalt. He's great. And fantastically patient. I'm so looking forward to get more of them.
I loved the plot, seeing the characters we already know and being introduced to a whole lot of new ones.
10/10 would recommend

I will continue to buy anything and everything this woman writes. She makes me proud to be a human.

So I don't know if this series stopped having appeal to me because I binge read this series and book 5 was just too much or what. I'm just not a big fan, it didn't hook me and I was ready to be hooked. A pet peeve of mine is how Toby needs to constantly remind us that she can't thank anyone. I was 80% into the book and she needs to remind us. Again.
