This book was given to me as a gift by a lady who used to come into the store where I worked. I appreciate her friendship and the gift. My sister and I spend a lot of time wandering around cemeteries looking for historical figures and other interesting people. This book was really informative about the symbolism and meanings that one finds on old tombstones. I have referenced this book several times on our adventures. Anyone who is interested in wandering cemeteries and genealogy would benefit from this quick reference guide to cemetery symbolism.

informative but a little iffy in spots. things like describing cairns as the simplest form of burial marker (even though they can be fairly complex) or like how under the section titled "Asian Americans" there's a paragraph about China and Korea.
