I need to stop reading romances, I swear. It was so beautifully written though. I was initially hesitant because there was a lot of description of throwing up and food poisoning, but the banter was so good. I loved how I distrusted Ethan at first, but then Christina and Lauren brought more depth to his character. If you are looking for another fictional character to fall head over heels for, this is a great read! It was such a real romance and didn't sway away from seemingly "unromantic" topics. I read this in a day and could not stop reading. It is addictive and enemies to lovers fans will love it! Now if you will excuse me, I need to find out how to get an Ethan Thomas. (SPOILER: The grand romantic gesture at the end healed my soul.)

I really enjoyed this book. It was funny and cute and didn’t feel cheesy at all. I loved the banter between Olive and Ethan and the fake honeymoon setup. The pacing was great, everything that happened felt real, like her job and making up with her sister. The ending made me happy for Olive and her sister so no complaints there.
That said, I had some issues when I thought more about it. The romance didn’t feel fully believable. They liked each other, sure, but it felt fast and mostly based on attraction. Before the honeymoon, Ethan thought she was hot and Olive thought about his body a lot, but they didn’t really like each other beyond that. So the strong feelings felt kind of rushed even though it didn’t ruin my reading experience.
I liked Olive as a character, but the parts where she misunderstood things felt off. For example, she thought Ethan didn’t like her because she was curvy and ate too much. Why did she think that? That wasn’t explored enough.
When she accused Dane of cheating, Ethan and her sister mostly focused on Olive’s habit of seeing the worst in people. I get that it’s part of her character but it should have been explored more, especially Ethan’s reaction. He broke up with her because he believed his brother so much. Olive gave him a second chance which was good, but there should have been a deeper conversation about why he trusted his brother over her and what it would mean if they ever disagreed again.
Also, Ethan’s behavior was strange. When Olive told him her sister didn’t have an open relationship, he didn’t react much. Was this just because of his loyalty to his brother or is it part of his character? If it’s just because of Dane, why is he so blind to that? Something could have been explored about their relationship too. He got facts, but chose to ignore them. Is this part of who he is, or was that a one time thing?
The scene at the restaurant with all the family and Ethan’s old boss felt weird. It was just too much and felt unrealistic.
Overall I really enjoyed the book. It’s funny, cute, and entertaining. The romance could have been explored more and a few parts felt off, but it didn’t ruin it.

i didn’t enjoy this book. it was fun at times but overall it was just frustrating and stupid.
No spoilers. Read via physical.
OH MY GOODNESS. How fun and cutesy this book was. Absolutely love the MN references (as I am from MN). I absolutely love the banter and the growth of the characters in this book. This was a great summer read, that could be any time of the year to have some good feel moments of sunshine! This was my first Christina and Lauren book, and I cannot wait to read more from them! I enjoyed every minute of this book!
Would I recommend? YES! Definitely is a great cheesy, funny, quick romcom that you should read!
