Go read this book now. But make sure you have time to read it all in one sitting, because you will not want to put it down!! So good!!!
Another one-sitting read from this author. I loved this story from beginning to end. Such a great emotional read. I loved how Emiline dealt with forgiveness and faced her past traumas in order to fully heal from them.
DNF @ 58%.
This is the lowest rating I’ve given any book ever (at least on Goodreads); I’m kind of sad about it and wanted to try and finish the whole thing, but the language coupled with the graphics in the “fictionalized story” parts did it for me.
First of all, “Emerson” and “Jax” are 15/16 (!!!) and act like they’re 20. They’re saying ten thousand variations of “I love you,” making out like crazy, and doing IT. Like, it is kind of DESCRIBED. I skipped over those parts so I don’t know just how bad it is, but there were way too many for me to handle, and the fact that Emiline and Jase did that in real life makes it worse, even.
Also, Emiline’s/Jase’s past is kind of dark, and I know some books are eye-opening for a reason, but I personally don’t gravitate to or enjoy those types of books very much.
And the LANGUAGE. I know some people don’t mind it, but I am not a fan of it, and all of them—even the f-word—are thrown out without abandon. Everyone says it, and “All the Roads Between” is the worst offender. Apparently, they use the f-word when they’re stressed or sad or angry, and it happens a lot—so they (especially Jax/Jase) throw it out all the time, and it was horrible, and I couldn’t escape from it.
I would have tried to finish the book, but aside from everything mentioned above, the ending seemed only okay when I scanned it, so I had to DNF it. I have only done this twice before because I hate doing it, but there are some circumstances where it’s almost impossible to try and read on.
