Swear On This Life

Renée Carlino

3.92 AVERAGE

Bro there was a point where I was crying so much I couldn’t even read LMAO but besides that, I loved this. Renée Carlino is one of my new fav authors. Her books never fail to make me FEEL something man

my only complaint is I wish there was a litttttle more BUT I HONESTLY RLLY LOVED THIS BOOK AAAHHH

This book solidified Renee Carlino as one of the my favorite authors. While reading this I genuinely forgot they were not real people. I absolutely adore how she writes characters and she is SO good at the second chance romance trope. This book within a book could have been so confusing but she made it work and made it feel like I read 2 books! Love love love this one

this book is perfection. Emi and Jase deserve the world. I absolutely ate this book up. If you did not read this book yet, what are you doing with your life? seriously read this work of art.

The concept was really cool BUT everything was tied up WAY too nicely. The author wrote an unbelievable, basic, and too-perfect solution to every single problem. And I didn’t really have any attachment to any of the characters. Meh.

3.5

The plot and storyline of this book were very unique and easy to read, but the writing seemed rushed. It lacked the deeper connections I was hoping for and needed more narration that wasn’t dialogue. Overall, it was easy to read and a cute story.

3,5/5⭐️

Very very similar to her other book “before we were strangers” the whole childhood lovers then ten years go by and they meet again trope is really hard for me, so I cried ofc but def the best book I’ve read in a while

reread sep 2 2023:

this book is far from perfect but there is something about it that makes me still think about it over two years later. so sweet and beautiful, em and jase forever have a place in my heart

very good cathartic cry, very much recommend. my emotions are going kind of hay-wire.

overall, i love em, i love jase, i love the journey, and all the feels this book gave me and i would def recommend.

Please check trigger warnings before reading.

Another favorite by Renée Carlino. This is my second book i’ve read by this author and I can say they are one of my new favorite authors.

This story is one that makes you feel so many emotions and continuously tugs at your heartstrings.

In this book we follow Emiline, a writing instructor at UC San Diego, who comes across a debut novel from author J. Colby. This book follows two characters, Emerson and Jackson, where you follow their childhood friendship to falling in love. Emiline comes to find that this story sounds similar to her own. Come to find J. Colby is, Jase, her once best friend and first love. And has decided she must confront him.

I absolutely loved reading their past in the form of Jase’s book, “From All the Roads Between”. It was so special to see their bond as childhood best friends to lovers. I loved seeing their past but i also really enjoyed seeing Jase and Em reconnecting. Jase absolutely knew exactly what to say. I LOVED his character so much. You could really feel their love and connection as if their love when they were younger never left
