Swear On This Life

Renée Carlino

3.92 AVERAGE

Great story, however the dialogue is sporadic with almost no depth in what the characters are saying.

Read it in one sitting... I’m buying a physical copy of this one.

This is a book I should’ve loved. It had so much potential but I just felt disappointed once I was done reading. The story of Jason and Emi I loved and wanted to keep reading but every conversation with any other character made me cringe. The relationship with Trevor after 7 years? Just so casual and unrealistic. The ease in which she had a convo with her father and immediately forgave him and he gave her his property l after not seeing each other for years, again so unrealistic. Idk The story was good and I loved but the minor things with everyone else ruined it for me.

I couldn’t stop reading this. I LOVE RENEE CARLINO AHHH. This story melted my heart. Every book Renee writes has me throwing the book and sobbing. This is a MUST read and needs to be read by more people

I need to read more from this author.

I really enjoyed this, and it held strong the entire way through. I really liked the premise of the book and thought it was a great execution.

On another note, there was a quote from this book that was so good I thought "I should write that down" then I thought "Nahhh I won't forget it." No. I forgot it a whole two seconds later.

Thats the pain with audiobooks I guess.

*** Edit to add-
Of course the quote was posted, it was just too good to not be!!

“It’s impossible to really hate someone if you don’t love them at least a little.”

Thats so perfect, ugh.

I lovedddd the premise of this-a down and out aspiring author turned adjust professor is given a new bestselling book to read by her friend. As she reads it, she realizes that the book is based on her life growing up as a kid and the author is her childhood best friend/first love that she hasn’t seen or spoken to in years…I mean how cute is that?!
Some parts, like the ending, were wayyyy too rushed and should have been longer. Also, the execution could have been better since the premise was such a cool idea. But overall, it was very quick and equally as enjoyable.

Pretty tale. I read it in one day, and I have had a hard time being drawn into books lately. This was simple and sweet. Just what I needed.

Basically cried the whole time. Would’ve 5-starred except Trevor felt like a character we didn’t need.
