Yksinkertaisimmillaan tämä kokoelma on ikään kuin kuvaus aikakaudesta, ihmistä ja paikoista - mutta ihan turha tätä on yksinkertaistaa.

I can understand the hype around Didion’s prose now. Her voice jumps off the page. One of the quotes on the back cover said she “paints a portrait of America” and I think they’re correct. “Neither villainous nor glamorous, but alive and botched and often mournfully beautiful.”

I was surprised at how current the mood was, especially the opening paragraphs of "Slouching Towards Bethlehem"

beautiful prose, some chapters were slower than others. i prefered the personals & seven places of the mind over life styles in the golden land.
