It pains me to say this but it turns out, there is such a thing as too sweet for me… I think this is the first time i have ever wished for a third act breakup… just for a little bit of conflict…

i do not think it is as emotional as it is when i have cried buckets reading to this book today but i did because it deals a lot with insecurities about sex. i am not demi but i relate so much when it comes to trepidations concerning sex and its so amazing how kess was so just responsive and how much his words are what rowdy really needed to hear.

For the better part of the last two years Kess and Rowan had sustained a sort of ante-upping, back-and-forth flirtation that was entirely unserious.
Kess is a thirty-eight year old city lawyer who just move to the country and got a house near Rowan’s cabin ,the guys is in pinning for the last two years.
And Rowan is fun playboy guy, who is not serious about commitment and settling. So we all though at the beginning.
But as the story progress we get to know more of Rowen, how amazing of this men. The lengths he's gone to in order to portray one thing while actually being another is astonishing. Kess slowly starting to figure out the real rowan and realise how wrong he was about him and It only makes him want him more. I love their chemisty from the unserious back-and-forth flirtation to how it real and beautiful it turned out. The way kess support him and put in work to show to Rowan that how he much he cared for him. Rowan is such a sweetheart and he deserve the best. I love them both.

Sweet and complicated Rowdy has been in love with lawyer Kessler for years.  I really loved their story and dynamic, the need to be brave about love and vulnerability.

Really enjoyed the book and the twist, but once that was revealed the last third did drag a little

Such a solid read. I did enjoy this one slightly less than the first, I felt we focused too much on Rowdy and didn't really get to learn much about Kess. So I felt he lacked some dimension. Low angst, sweet and spicy. I'm looking forward to the next book!

Ugh this book was so good! We’ve got Rowdy, a 25-year-old cowboy with a heart of gold but a lot of walls up, living in a cabin on his cousin’s preserve. He’s all about taking care of the wildlife but is super secretive about his own emotions. Then there’s Kessler, a 38-year-old city lawyer who seems like he has it all but is actually lonely and craving something real. Their slow-burn, banter-filled friendship turns into something way more, and it’s just chef’s kiss.

The chemistry between Kess and Rowdy is next level, from their flirty text threads to their awkward yet adorable drunken kiss. Rowdy might try to act tough, but he’s a total cinnamon roll underneath, and Kess is the guy who sees through all that. The way he shows up for Rowdy, despite his own emotional baggage, makes my heart melt.

The slow build-up, the support, and the raw vulnerability both characters bring to the table is everything. If you love grumpy-sunshine dynamics, banter that gives you butterflies, and characters who grow and open up in the most satisfying ways, you NEED to read this. Rowdy and Kess are a perfect match, and by the end, you’ll be rooting for them like crazy. This book definitely gives those sweet, warm fuzzy feelings.
