This is such a sweet book! I absolutely loved all the banter between Kess and Rowdy – they literally had me laughing out loud at some points. Kelly Fox nailed it with this low angst, friends to lovers story!
Kess is an incredibly insightful person and I love how he makes it his mission to learn more about his friend. There is a softness in everything he does that is so endearing, especially where Rowdy is concerned. Even before Kess learns the truth he is so respectful – it’s incredibly refreshing to read!
And then there’s Rowdy who is such a kind and gentle person; I really appreciate how quickly we see his true nature and the ways that manifests throughout the book. There is an innocence that shines through everything he does – even when he’s being outrageously cheeky.
There is also a brief but so important passage on sexuality, specifically the aromantic-asexual spectrums, that was so beautifully written! I definitely recommend this one ❤️

Loved it 🥰
Cowboy Rowdy plays up his love em and leave em persona so well that his friends are convinced that he’s truly that and not much more. Rowdy and Kess, a city lawyer who now lives next door to Rowdy, have known each other for a couple of years. Well, Kess knows the Rowdy that he lets them see, not the real man he is. Circumstances soon have Kess questioning who the real Rowdy is.
This is a truly beautiful story of two wonderful men from differing backgrounds that finally work their way to a very much longed for HEA. There’s no major dramas to negotiate as Rowdy slowly but surely shows Kess the true man behind the facade.
I was invested in these two very likeable main characters from start to finish and the secondary characters kept things very interesting. There’s steamy moments that are perfectly balanced with sweet and tenderness, laugh out loud texting, banter, sass and a very satisfying ending that left me smiling and wanting more from the Texas Hill Country residents.

What a delightful read!
Quick paced, witty interactions, loveable characters, great writing & low angst.
Kess is older, rich & a worldly experienced guy crushing on his friend of 2 years....
Rowdy is younger, a loveable cowboy with a heart of gold & is in return crushing on his friend.
I lost my next thought when he attacked my mouth. Within seconds, he was humping my abs, grunting and moaning as if he were about to pop off. “You trying to come for me, baby?” I asked the next time we came up for air
After a drunken kiss, some misunderstandings & the well intended interference from friends, the truth of their feelings along with some other sneaky hidden secrets are revealed.
“He’s mine,” I said, setting my mug on the counter and crossing my arms over my chest. “We kissed, among other things. It’s new, but it’s not. And... Rowdy is mine.”
