I mean it’s alright like-

There are many things that this book does well. I love seeing mermaid rep in fantasy fiction, and the forbidden love trope is handled with care. At the same time, the book didn’t catch my interest until the halfway point, and the villain was a generic “I want the power to take over the world” villain. I will read the next book though

I really enjoyed this debut novel, I mean it got me with mermaid. It's fast paced and Simi is wonderful character and I can't wait to read more about her in sequel.

I loved the way the author put all these pieces of folklore together in such a beautiful story. The memories and feelings the main character has is so strong and human you have to remember that she isn't human.
