I loved watching this series on Acorn TV and was completely enamored with the quirky private detective set in the Cotswolds.
Listening to the audio book narrated by Penelope Keith was such an absolute delight! I plan to listen to the whole series. Such fun characters and a great listen on a sunny summer day!

I've heard great things about this series, but I have to admit that I found it hard to enjoy as I kept comparing it to the TV adaptation - which bore little resemblance. I kept thinking how different it was.
Generally I'd say it's a light and pleasant read, definitely crime of the cozy variety - I hope to enjoy the second one more.

I never thought I'd purposefully pick up and read a book with such a corny title. Yet, I did and am glad for it. It was a surprisingly enjoyable read.

I personaggi sono ben caratterizzati ma non appesantiscono troppo la lettura. Sono personaggi ben diversi dagli standard e il mio preferito è assolutamente Bill Wong. Vedremo se negli altri romanzi la protagonista si farà amare di più. I luoghi sono ben descritti, fin nei minimi dettagli. Tanto che li si può immaginare facilmente. Lo stile di scrittura non mi ha fatto impazzire, soprattutto per l'utilizzo di alcune frasi "problematiche" che però dobbiamo, ovviamente, contestualizzare. Il romanzo è scritto in terza persona e si sviluppa in maniera un pò troppo lenta per i miei gusti. Non ci sono molti colpi di scena, ma il giusto. Infatti pur avendo fatto un'ipotesi sul colpevole, mi sono sbagliata. Questo è il primo libro della serie, ma è anche autoconclusivo. Tuttavia voglio leggerne almeno un altro.
