I am so glad I read this book, for the characters and the character development.  The two leads are strong willed characters, living in a world that wants to suppress them. But both have a lot to learn and a lot to forgive. Racial injustice and trigger warnings around SA should be on this book, but the author handles both deftly. The horrors are real, the scars aren't easily erased.  But with God there can be healing.
