I really enjoyed the first book in this series and I have seen some people saying this sequel was unnecessary, however, I really enjoyed this addition and I think it gave us much more of a story. I even think their could be a third book too! I listened to this book on audio as I did with the first and I really do believe it gave me a much better connection with the characters than if I was reading it myself.

Like the first book, we tackle so many real life problems in this book! Figuring out who you are in this world is definitely the main theme of this book series but in this sequel, we delve family dynamics, importance of friendships and navigating a relationship in your teens much more. The characters of Ari and Dante are so beautifully written that I felt a connection with them instantaneously. Their thoughts, feelings, life experiences are so relatable and raw that it really touches the reader, especially if they have similar experiences. I adore both boys' families and they really bring a sense of hope and love to the story.

Similarly to the first book, the only thing I wish was different was how fast paced the ending of the book was. I feel it would have been much better if it was a little more paced out. I do hope we get a third book because I do feel the story ended quite suddenly when there was more to explore.

oh how did you manage to fuck up a book like this ... the plot is lacking a lot to begin with but its the cringy writing that gets to me/neg. just, the whole repeating of a quote he thought was pretty four times TAKES EVERYTHING AWAY FROM IT! i really hated it but wanted to see what happens in the end and okay. sure. good for them. the whole???
breaking up bc u love them trope? Hate it. the whole women are great thin? SO FUCKING FAKE OH MY GOD. Also, Sophocles, really? и наверное что хуевее всего, это что я себя вижу в отражении иногда этих двух. И Я ПРОСТО ВОТ НЕ ХОЧУ  но они говорят вещи которве я не так уж и давно и думал, для моего комфорта. ugh

It's been a while since I read the first book and I'm gonna admit I didn't re-read it before coming into this, but the feelings I got as I finished each one couldn't be more different. While I remember enjoying the first book and finishing it with a sense that it was worth my time, this one was a chore from beginning to finish.
It's sappy, disjointed, goes nowhere with its weird fragmented chapters, seems to be just a lot of amateur philosophy and quotable sentences that seem over the top in context.
To be clear, the book was so boring and, in my opinion, badly written, that I had to go back and read a chapter because I had mostly glossed over in my head one of the major events if the book, if you can say it has any. Also was getting tired of all these characters introduced out of the blue just to tell Ari how much of a man he is.
Overall, too many attempts at moralising for me.

God what a beautiful story. Love in all it's many beautiful, messy forms. I want to give Ari the biggest hug on earth; it's what that boy deserves 🥺🥺🥺🥺
