Not as funny as I was hoping or expecting it to be, but still cute. A fast, easy read. It did throw two surprise twists at me and the first one was good (I felt silly for not realizing it) and the second was disheartening (let me with a sick/sad feeling in the pit of my stomach). Overall, a good read.

Cute story. Great illustrations. I can see my boys loving this in a few years.

Brain Food: Grilled PB&J with carrot sticks
Scandal Level: breaking school rules, no swear words or sexual content
Violence: fist fights, mild domestic violence
Must be ___ old to read: 10
Read if you liked: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nightime
Re-readability: Worth reading once, might read again with kids
Thoughts: This book was awesome. I listened to it and may need to find a printed copy so I can see the drawings. It is cleverly done and shows how often kids behavior is much more complicated than them just being good or bad kids. It is also a lot of fun.

I'm a big James Patterson fan. I've read some of his young adult books. When I saw this book, I wanted to read it to see what it was about. And if I thought my daughter would like it.

It's a cute book. and I will be recommending it to the librarian at one of the local schools. I've already told my daughter she needs to read it and recommended it to her best friend too.

As an adult, I can say, I don't think all adults would enjoy this. But it's a cute and fast read.

This book really surprised me. I did not think I was going to like it at all. It starts off as pretty snarky and I didn't really care for the main character. As the book went on though, and you learn Rafe's background and story, you really grow to like him. You also see the root of his troubles. I actually cried near the end when I finally found out important information.
Try the book before you count it out. I actually listened to the audiobook and it is very enjoyable. It is worth it to read it the whole way through.

Hilarious. In someways, I could actually connect to the characters. Even Jeanne Galetta. "Don't give up, buck up"

I read this with my 13 year old and I’m looking forward to watching the movie with him soon. I appreciated the many drawings and visuals throughout the book. The chapters are short, which is nice too. The Leo storyline was lovely.
