Must read. This is not a religious book, but rather a historical book with religious references.

First time I've read something that makes one see Jesus as a real person; puts him in the context of the times and the authors use a variety of resources other than just the Bible.

If you are looking for history - don't look here. You'll get more history in he Bible than you'll get here. I was very disappointed and almost threw the book several times for being so far off the mark in terms of what is know about the history of the time.

I loved this book, just as much as I have loved Killing Lincoln and Killing Kennedy. If you are looking for a religious book about Christ, this is NOT it. This is a historical book, about Jesus of Nazareth, not Jesus, Son of God. Bill O'Reilly states that in the forward of the book, and he kept to that theme. I think it would be a great book for believers and non-believers. I have read the Bible, and am learning more about Jesus and the time he lived. I watched The Bible on the History channel last year, and I hear a lot of similar undertones in how it was delivered.

If you've read the new testament, you don't really need to read this.

The story was reasonable well told, but there was not much in the way of new info. For anyone with even a casual knowledge of the Bible, most of what's in here is already known.
