Lauren Asher’s writing is tastefully diverse, and this novel just proves that tenfold. Not only are the mc’s racially diverse, but the attention to detail regarding Huntingtons disease and Alzheimers are impressive. Considering both are genetic illnesses, it adds an extra level of curiosity to the future of Jax & Elena.

The growth Jax made in this book was beautiful and heartwarming ❤️‍🔥 He is just a bad boy with a teeny tiny heart riddled with anxiety and soooo many fears concerning his and their future.

Thank god Elena for forgiving him. He just wanted to protect you from heartbreak. It was not right that he made the choice for you and saw himself as a burden.

My heart has been broken multiple times but has been put together again as well ❤️‍🩹 (thank god!)
But I really need to emotionally recover from this before starting the last one in this series 🫶🏻

I read the last part of this book while crying my eyes out! 🥹
Lauren Asher, if already stated it before but I want to tell you again that you’re an amazing and very talented author. Every story you write has a very real component to it, that’s why every book I read from you grips me time and time again.

Jax is a broody and seemingly cold man who has secretly always struggled with anxiety and the pressures of the F1 race car driving make him seek salvation in pills and alcohol. After one particular bad stunt at a bar, his team decided to hire a personal PR specialist for him. Enter Elena, a no-bullshit woman, who sure as hell isn't going to be scared off a job she needs to keep her head up float just because of a moody client. What will they do when their close confinement starts turning their dislike for each other into something more?

I can't believe how much I loved this book. Lauren Asher is starting to become one of my instant-read authors. I think this book very beautifully described the different struggles people face while dealing with their pasts, futures and nows. This was a heavier and more emotional book than the first two. My heart broke so many times while reading about Jax and Elena and I deeply felt for both of them. I cried multiple times while reading the book, it touched me deeply. I wish all the best for them and I want them to live their lives being the happiest of people. Can't wait to read Santi's book and see what he brings to the table!

My ratings for the rest of the series: Throttled - 5☆, Collided - 4☆, Redeemed - 5☆

I didn't think any of the other books in the series would top Throttled for me but I think this did. I liked both main characters a bit more which surprise me. Elena just feels a little bit more dynamic and flushed out than Maya and we got to see much more character development in Jax than Noah. I still love Maya and Noah though of course.

I will say it felt a bit predictable to me but since this isn't a mystery or thriller where it's important for plot twists and developments to stay mysterious, I didn't really mind.

I appreciated the character development of Jax mostly of course but also the character development of Elena. I think it can be hard to show already mature and responsible characters mature further but Elena did.

Overall, I just really enjoyed their dynamic and story. I appreciate how their "ending" deviated from Noah & Maya and Liam & Sophie. They keep their unique dynamic which I appreciate.

Jax was a lot sweeter than I expected him to be, and I thought the mental health representation was really important. Some parts were a bit frustrating, especially the whole “self sacrifice” thing, but overall I really enjoyed it.
