Emotions went all over the place in this book! Some chapters were surprising (certainly the ending), but some I personally liked less (but I won't give any spoilers). You have to experience the book by yourself, especially because of the mixed reviews. But besides that, Elena became one of my favorite characters throughout the book!

the writing in wrecked is noticeably better than in it's predecessors imo. the romance didn't click with me so it was probably my least favourite aspect of the book but i liked the characterisation and i cared so much more about them than i did the lead characters of the last 2 books. in general, elena and jax had more depth and better character development. this book isn't much less corny than the last two but i actually didn't hate it as much as i was expecting to. don't get me wrong, there was still a lot of flaws (elena's parents' murder, for one - i didn't catch a single explanation for why they were shot by gang members/drug dealers in their own home) but it was a better read than i was expecting.

I wanted to read this book because I love Lauren Asher’s work. I think she is brilliant and amazing! I absolutely adored the Dreamland Billionaire Series and still think about the Kane Family (mainly the brothers) almost daily. I wanted to read more of Lauren’s work whilst waiting for Love Redesigned. I read both Throlled and Collided and loved it and didn’t think Jax and Elena’s story was going to top it off. Boy was I wrong!

This book has two points of view. The first is Jax Kingston. His life is controlled by pills, alcohol and adrenaline. He is addicted to destructive decisions that will numb his pain. However, one night he makes a catastrophic mistake that nearly costs his career. To fix his reputation and to win the title, his team hires Elena. He sees her as an overpriced babysitter who is set on ruining his plans. She is becoming Jax’s newest addiction the more time they spend together. The second point of view is Elena Gonzalez. She has been praying and begging to the universe to save her from the financial disaster her past has put her in. All she wants to do is make sure her Nan is well looked after. She gets a call from a Formula 1 team desperate for a miracle. She is signed on for one season for one person who is her only priority – the broody British racer she met last year. Jax is determined to turn the hotel room they share into a battleground. She is determined to stay on so her Nan can get the proper care she needs. Elena just needs to beat the enemy and to beat him she will need to find his weaknesses. What she learns could ruin everything. Love is a warzone and neither one of them are planning to surrender.

JAX!! He broke my heart so much. I love my broken, British, tattooed, sexy man. The man is definitely British with how he manages to get under everyone’s skin. As someone who was born and lives in the UK, that is every Friday night at the pub, I was laughing because I was understand the little insider jokes and the British humour so much. Elena broke my heart from page one, throughout this whole book I just wanted to hug her. How she managed to see the light in everything after everything that happened to her, I would have no clue what to do and this girl is just wanting to live her life to the fullest.

I think the thing that made it different from her other books was how she goes about talking about trauma and mental illness and chronic illnesses. This book had so many characters that were struggling with their own thing, but Lauren made them all feel seen and valid just because they were struggling doesn’t mean they are broken. I love the main point in this book is that people don’t have to be perfect for them to be loved and cherish and that no love story is perfect but it’s worth fighting for. I was nearly in tears whilst reading this book especially when we got to the gooey centre about why Jax’s was the way he was. I loved their banter so much and how they were both willing to fight their fears for each other.

I just never wanted this book to end - I liked seeing Sophie’s involvement with Jax and how Jax was comfortable to tell Sophie the truth and how she helped him. I love the gang and I cannot wait to be back with Santi’s story.

"Who is she? The best part of my day"
this book in the literal sense of the book wrecked me. Jax and Elena made my heart clench. Their love story wasn't easy but it was real. They both have real problems and Jax's ones were relatable (he suffers from anxiety and panic attacks). I appreciate Lauren Asher's effort in giving awareness and showing that men going to therapy is normal. The bloody accent was everything, and he drinks morning tea!! I love the banter they have while living together and the Caleb scenes. All the little things they do for each other are just wholesome, like when Elena swaps his pills with notes, that have all written on things they could do, or when Jax thinks she's on her period so he calls his mom and goes to the supermarket, or when he buys her night lights to help her sleep, or when Jack organizes this whole thing for Elena, where they have to do each other's makeup as a couple, just like she had mentioned loving watching them. Liam's cameos are the best and I reevaluated him. Once I understood the cover meaning my heart felt complete.

Lauren Asher’s writing is tastefully diverse, and this novel just proves that tenfold. Not only are the mc’s racially diverse, but the attention to detail regarding Huntingtons disease and Alzheimers are impressive. Considering both are genetic illnesses, it adds an extra level of curiosity to the future of Jax & Elena.
