A high school senior is taking a radio broadcasting class. One of the guys in her group is someone she's had a past awkward encounter with and had been hoping to avoid. Some of the plot is resolved in a maybe not very believable way, but it's done so well with such good dialogue that it's fun to read. Emma Mills does realistic teens with realistic problems who tend to have healthy relationships and healthy ways of working things out. Refreshing!

This book has been on my TBR for years and back when I added it, I was around the same age as the characters. I think I would have really enjoyed it back then, but it was still a fun read today. I loved Jaimie and could see myself a bit in Nina. I was not a huge fan of how the live radio show turned out and it felt a little ridiculous to me, but overall this book was a pretty standard YA contemporary with some cute moments.

Emma Mills has written another feel good out of touch friends to romance story that definitely has multiple bumps thrown Nina’s way. Definitely the brain break from an intense read that I needed.

I was close to DNF this book several times. Not because it was specially bad, but maybe too slow for my liking. However, I’m glad I didn’t leave it, because I really enjoyed the story once I got into it.
