What a great story, found it from one line on TikTok and that line was in the very last part of the book but still made me giggle
I don’t think you guys understand what this book did to me!!! Also I definitely read this series completely backward
5 Stars so good!! Honestly rereadable. This book was very well written and I would definitely read more by this author. I will say their relationship in reality is very toxic but to read was a thrill. I loved their back and forth cat and mouse. It was so dynamic and deep and drew me in. Loved the b characters as well. The twists at the end were heart wrenching. I will say it was a bit difficult to read about her getting tortured, then the heart break after was really hard to read. But it ended well and I thoroughly enjoyed the journey this book took me on. All smiles at the end even though I definitely cried a few times through it.
I (unlike most, it seems) did not find this through tiktok/reels, but it definitely does feel a tad written-for-social-media. Cade is a million red flags and Izzy is just in between a damsel in distress and ultra competent. The storyline is a bit confusing (what even is Cade's business? something like national security meets Geek Squad?) and there's one particular problem I have with the bracelet scene.
If you can look past the plot issues, it's an easy smutty read, with a few darker romance elements to it.

It clearly says Cade tells the girl who bought the bracelet to keep it as a thank you, but then later he gives that bracelet to Izzy? What exactly is going on there? I could not put this down. All the characters were so interesting and Cade and Izzy’s back and forth was so fun! Be warned! This is NOT the first book in the series!

DNF at chapter 23 - There was no story and I was bored. I was listening to the audiobook and the female narrator was good but the male narrator did not work for me.
