I have to say is, holy sh*t. This is one of the first horror books I've read and it really took me on a journey of emotion and terror. When I got to the last 50 pages or so, I had to take a moment as I started to put everything together and take in what's about to happen. An absolutely insane read, it scared me, it hurt my feelings, and the ending was amazing. I can't wait to read more books by Ania Ahlborn.

What do I even say…I initially rated this 3 stars (probably because I didn’t know how to properly process my feelings about it), but I have to bump it up because I literally can’t stop thinking about it. This was MESSED UP but sooo so good.

This was super gory, to the point it was genuinely hard for me to stomach at times…but it was also absolutely heartbreaking? Given the premise and the way things kicked off, I didn’t expect this to be such an emotional read for me. All of the characters are terribly flawed (and some are downright monsters)…but they are also all products of their circumstances. So, so good. Disgusting, but good.

Also, I’m so glad I read this physically. I don’t think I would have been able to stomach the audiobook to be honest.

I can’t say much for fear of spoilers, but I want to mention CWs for animal abuse/death (both on and off page) and gratuitous violence/gore (as should be expected with a horror book like this).
