I finally finished listening to this book! I read some other reviews that knocked the book for not being "realistic" or "plausible" that seemed ridiculous since it's a work of fiction. it is a very entertaining story. most of my favorite characters ended up dead but I guess that happens sometimes.
Theodore ended up kind-of righting his wrongs and at least expressing a good deal of guilt over the things he did that hurt other people. I enjoyed his friend Boris, a deus ex machina if there ever was one.
I recently read Farenheit 451 and found a few parallels that were nice. Both books dwell on the same passage about lilies of the field, make references to burning down all that you know and care about.
I liked that the book forced the reader's interest to caring about art. Anyone can walk around with something beautiful in their pocket or playing on their iPod. It's not owning and hiding beautiful things from the world that give them value, it's taking a moment to notice and experience them that makes them meaningful.
A decent book. some repetitive language that was irritating. The audio version scores bones points for including lots of fun accents.
