A decent read and a good look at the story of London's Cholera outbreak and John Snows investigation into the source of the outbreak, but the writing quickly becomes very tiresome when the author drones on and on and on and seems to tray farther and farther from the topic at hand. At least 50 or 60 pages could have been cut out of this book to make it a much more concise story.

The first part of the book, about the cholera outbreak, was absolutely worth reading, though I had to take breaks because of the descriptions of the ickiness of life in Victorian London. The concluding chapter felt less focused, and didn't mesh with the first part very well.
