- Warum mussten schon wieder Leute sterben?

What happens when a young 19 year old loses her twin sister and is sent to live with her estranged father and his new family? What happens when that young woman meets her soulmate in a 24 year old man who is also grieving the loss of a family member. Then what happens when the young woman walks into class for the first time at a new school and sees that man up front - the teacher? This isn't a taboo forbidden teacher/student romance, it is about two people who meet and discover they can't live without each other, but need to hide their love from others because it isn't allowed.

ryan turner i love you so much my special boy

I can't honestly believe I liked this book as much as I did. I was expecting fluff, which it was, but it was fluff with heart. It could very well be that I just read this at a time when it resonates with me more than it usually would- loss of a loved one is hard to cope with.

I was expecting this book to feel more sordid and taboo than it did. Really a 19 year old who was held back a year and a 22 year old teacher doesn't feel that wrong. In terms of the teacher having a position of power, it could read a lot worse. ( I have to admit I had the expectation of Pretty Little Liars Aria and Ezra in my head going into this.) If the book was a 19 year old and a 30, 40 or 50 year old man I would have been really weirded out. I'm not sure why the larger age difference would make it worse for me it just would.

Loved the literary foreplay. Shakespeare always makes a good pick up line.

I normally am not a fan at all of cheesy HEA, I can't say I loved this ending, but it made sense for the characters. Maybe I am just too jaded to believe in true love, and it bothers me that all the book characters get it haha.

5 'Golden' Stars

This book is about Ashlyn and Daniel. Both characters know what it's like to lose an important someone in their lives. They also know what loneliness is like.

I was almost certain that loneliness was a disease. An infectious, disgusting illness that was slow to creep into your system and overtake you, even though you tried to fight it off the best you could

After Ashlyn's twin, Gabby, died Ashlyn's mom made her go live with her father and his family. Her father was never there for her or Gabby. She didn't want to go. So on the bus ride, she gets up to go to the bathroom and she sees a beautiful blue eyed man.

His eyes were so blue and filled with interest. For a second, I thought they were a passageway to a different world.
Beautiful.
Breathtaking.
Brilliant.
Blue eyes.
I sighed.
Maybe they were a passageway to a better world

After they get off it was a brief conversation. But, Daniel invited her to go see his band, Romeo's Quest, perform. And my are they good. Ashlyn goes and has the most wonderful time. For a second she just got lost in the music, and his blue eyes. Her and Daniel just clicked.

“You know what I like about you so far?”

“What’s that?”

“Everything”

Since Ashlyn had health problems, she had to miss school. So she's a senior even though she's 19. So starting school in a town that she hates, with a vice principle of a father, with people she doesn't know, without her sister, and getting bullied for having boobs isn't so bad right?
Guess again, what tops it all off is that the blue eyed angle turned out to be a teacher, and she has him for AP English.

They try though, they try to push each other away. But they're in too deep to just push it aside.

“I don’t want to be your friend,” he said. We breathed in together and exhaled in harmony. “I want to be yours, I want you to be mine, and I hate that we can’t be us. Because I think we were meant to be us.”

Their feelings just keep getting stronger and stronger. And the stronger it gets the harder it becomes. But it's impossible to stay away, because he's her golden and she's his light.

“He filled me back up, giving me life, giving me meaning, giving me him. I was shocked by his ability to awaken my spirit each and every time we were near one another. He was discovering all of my weaknesses and making them strong.”

By now I'm pretty sure that Brittainy Cherry is a kickass writer. And no doubt that she's now one of my favorite authors. Between this one and The Air he Breathes I'm pretty sold.

Beautiful...I loved all the characters in this book! I can't wait to read more of Mrs. Cherry's books. In fact, I just ordered all the author's books on my Kindle (so I am all set for the weekend). Once again, excellent writing and story telling.

I'm definitely in the minority with this one. *looks at everyone's ratings* Yup, I definitely am.

Wow! Such a heart wrenching read. This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and it will not be the last.
