I don’t know if it was the audiobook or just the book itself. But this had some of the most awkward and cringy dialogue I’ve ever encountered.

I DNF’d this. Maybe it was audio book, maybe it’s just not meant for me. I feel like I would’ve loved and adored this when I was 13 or 14. Very much so reminded me of the fan fiction I read back then. Just not into it now.

Why did I just understood that I can have K-dramas on paper? Where was I sooner? It has been a while I have read something similar to a fanfic to a band. It is quite sad I can’t watch the videos to go along with this book. Thats okay, will add my favorite band then for measure. I loved the slow burning romance thing and all fan thing along with Korean culture and idols and all. It was a read off my usual paths and I got a bit of panic when they broke up about 80% in the book and the pages kept turning. Gladly I Googled that there is another part. Phew. Saved me a heartbreak. And it was quite refreshing that the girl admitted her mistake and did the chasing. Big fan of this musical couple.

I'm finding more and more that YA focused-romance is not for me whereas YA contemporary that focuses on coming of age or societal issues really is my jam. This teen perspective of romance leaves me frustrated and eye-rolling.
In the case of XOXO, I liked the LA and Seoul setting and the characters themselves were okay but their narrative and dialogue was just too young for me. I will give ASAP a go, but I'm expecting more of the same. We'll see.

I'm usually not a fan of contemporary romances (especially YA), but this one was absolutely adorable. Loved it from beginning to end. Very heartwarming.
