Yoshihiro Togashi, Yuyu Hakusho: The Executor of a Dying Wish (ViZ, 1993)

And so the Dark Tournament story arc comes to a close with.. what may be the most anti-climactic ending I've come across in a manga. Not quite sure how I feel about that, but I was just as ready to get back to something different as Togashi obviously was, so a new story arc taking place back on Earth was a welcome diversion. And what a story arc-- humans are waking up and finding themselves with superpowers (presaging Heores, perhaps?). In the first story of the arc, a group of the newly-powered humans kidnaps Yusuke, and the other three have to rescue him. But who's controlling the humans, and who's still trying to open the gate to the demon world? Cracks along at the usual fast and furious Yuyu Hakusho pace. ****
