Well conceived and well executed. You'll probably learn a lot even if you never make ramen. I can just about guarantee I'll never make the noodles, and might possibly not make any of the other ingredients, but I enjoyed the entertaining and informative walkthrough.

Of course I love a graphic format too. Sure, it might take more pages to get through a recipe, but pedagogically it works to break things into smaller bits when there's so much to explain. I appreciate their enthusiasm.

Just found out these are the same authors if The Adventures of Fat Rice. Definitely treat yourself to that read too!

Good artwork, but I felt that the narration was lacking a bit. This book focused on Japanese ramen, but I felt it didn’t cover many vegetarian recipes, except one - I cannot believe there are no other ways to eat ramen except with meat.
informative

Now this cookbook I really did read cover-to-cover, and yet I haven't made anything out of it yet! I loved the comic book form - what a great way to provide visuals to illustrate complex cooking processes and the complex mix of flavors, temperatures, and textures that comprise a bowl of ramen. I learned so much about the history and culture of ramen, as well as how to understand everything that goes into a dish. And I do plan to try making some of the recipes myself!

Very informative and thourough. Only wish it had a few more pages as sometimes the strorytelling and the thick inking needed more space to breath.

I loved this book! It includes many recipes, historical and cultural facts. The illustrations are so colorful and make the ramen look delicious.

I LOVE this book. It literally walks you through the process of making everything ramen: broth, noodles, meats, accoutrements - then how to put everything together. I borrowed this from the library, but will be purchasing this for sure.
