reading my first review right above this one is quite funny to me now...the way I don’t even care THAT much about Cole today whereas I was literally obsessed with him last year..I only have eyes for Aiden now sigh (Cole is still *chef's kiss* tho)

A) What in the world was that ending
B) I'm sorry, Aiden looks like WHO???
At first, I didn't think I would like this series, but I think after being a few books deep, I have put reality to the side and am enjoying it.

5/5 "I'll always come back for you, sweetheart. You're a queen, not a pawn." AIDEN NO! NO NO NO! I refuse to believe that ending is true for Aiden and Elsa. There is no way her dad came back, Aiden and Silver are engaged...just no!
Review: Steel Princess by Rina Kent — 3 Stars
Steel Princess is one of those books that left me with mixed feelings. I gave it a solid 3 stars because while there were elements I really enjoyed—especially the plot twist, which was brilliantly executed—there were also aspects that didn’t fully work for me.
It took me longer than usual to get through this book, and I honestly pushed through mainly because I wanted to continue the series. At this point, though, I’m taking a break. I can’t help but feel like Aiden and Elsa’s story could’ve been wrapped up in one book rather than being stretched into three. It just feels excessive, especially when readers like me are eagerly waiting for other characters’ stories—like Xander’s, Cole’s, or Ronan’s—to unfold.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t dislike Aiden and Elsa’s journey, but did it really need three full books? I’m not convinced. The first book was okay, the second felt like it dragged, and as for the third… well, I’ll save those thoughts for my next review.
One thing I truly despise in romance novels is the infamous third-act breakup. And unfortunately, Steel Princess falls into that trap. It felt unnecessary. The story already had enough tension and intrigue with its twists and revelations. Adding a breakup toward the end didn’t make it more entertaining—it felt like an overused trope that detracted from the emotional payoff.
That said, I do genuinely enjoy Rina Kent’s writing style. She knows how to build suspense and create complex characters. But when it comes to Steel Princess, I prefer the first two books in the series. This installment just didn’t hit the mark for me in the same way.
Still, I wouldn’t rate it below 2.5 stars. It’s a good book with some strong moments—it just wasn’t a "hooray" kind of read.

I read it in like one sitting and my brain gave up on me at the end. 🙃 Both Elsa and Aiden annoy the shit out of me.
